Love

I created this card for the Cardz TV "A Banner Year" Challenge. I am really happy with how it turned out. I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do but I wanted it to be simple.

Materials:
Patterned paper from DCWV Type Art Stack
Banner cut from Pretty Pennants Cart
Red and black glitter glue from Studio G around the flower stems and leaves
Black pearls around the petals from Studio 112 (Joann)
Red gem in the flower center from Martha Stewart Crafts.

I just love this paper. I thought is was able to stand on it's own and didn't need any die cuts to cover it up so I just added the glitter and gems to give it a little more flavor.

Red, Black & White

I needed a quick and simple birthday card for a friend of my Mom's. I desigened it with a couple of challenges in mind.

Here is what I came up with:

It's a simple A2 sized card using:
  • Black and white patterend paper from K&Company
  • Red and white patterend paper is from the Love Me paper pad by My Mind's Eye
  • Ribbon from Michael's
  • Flowers cut from the Flower Shoppe cart with a Recollections glitter brad in the center
  • Sentiment heat embossed using black embossing powder
  • Bling from Recollections
  • Glitter buttons

This card will be entered in:
Cardz TV "Color Challenge"

Teddy Elf

I have not been on my blog in quite some time and I must say I missed it. I have been so busy and have not had time to post anything to my blog or participate in any challenges. What better way to start back up than a Peachy Keen Challenge!

I created this for PKS Challenge 45:Just Cards:Shape It Up

I used Teddy Bear Parade and welded welded two bears together to make the card using Cricut Craft Room. I used patterned paper from Cloud9 Designs and DCWV - The Evergreen Stack. I used Everyday Character Face Parts for the eyes and mouth.

I used red flocking powder for the ball and the trim on the hat and floral wire to hang the bell from the hat. The bell and mistletoe were stamped with MCT - From Our Family To Yours and I used a red pearl pen for the berries. The sentiment stamped with CardzTV Tiny Tidings. Buttons and bells from Joann's. I used some red glitter on the shoes.

The inside of the card was also stamped using MCT - From Our Family To Yours

Frank -N- Bride

All of the wonderful Halloween crafts that I have been seeing online have gotten me in the Halloween mood. I thought it would be fun to create a wedding themed Halloween card. I have never been to a Halloween themed wedding but if I ever get invited to one then I will have a card design.

This card actually came about by accident. I was looking for Halloween images, I saw Frankenstein and the Bride and everything evolved from there.

The card is a 6x6 S-fold card. The orange card base is from Recollections and the striped paper is from K & Company. All of the cuts are from Paper Doll Dress Up. Frank and his bride were cut at 4" from green card stock. I hid the faces on the cuts and stamped them with Peachy Keen Stamps; Happy New Year for Frank and Laffy Taffy for the Bride. I added some cheeks on both with green chalk and used a black gel pen for Frank's scar. I used a white gel pen to fill in the eyes for both, added some purple glitter glue to her eye lids and Glossy Accents to her lips.

For the clothing I cut some of the pieces from the bride and groom cuts to give them a little wedding look. Frank's tux jacket, shirt and bow tie came from the groom and her veil and shoes came from the bride. All other clothing and accessories came from the Frankenstein and the Bride cuts. I used a white gel pen on his suit and her hair and Glossy accents to the shoes. I embossed her dress with the zebra embossing folder and added some black glitter glue to the dress and veil. The orange pearls on the veil are from my stash.

I cut the moon out by hand and added eyes to the bat with a red pearl pen. The sentiment came from two different stamps in the MPS Happiest Moments stamp set.

I added a yellow mat to the inside of the card. I hung the spider from a piece of twine, added green glitter glue for the eyes and added some doodling with a white gel pen.

Hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it!

Gift Card Dress Up!

I picked up a Menards Gift Card for my mother for her birthday (it's what she asked for) and I wanted to dress it up a little instead of just handing her the gift card in the little envelope from the store.

I am so in love with crafting that I look for any opportunity to craft. I really could have just given it to her plain (since it's after her birthday now) but I so enjoy the smiles on people's faces when they get something hand made.

Gift card holder and insert

Materials:
Tag: Polka dot paper from Michael's open stock, blue mat is Recollections card stock, tag cut from Stretch Your Imagination, glitter button from American Crafts, Ribbon from Joann's

Sleeve: Recollections craft card stock for the base, glitter chipboard from Michael's open stock, balloons cut from Elmo's Party and stamped with Peachy Keen Happy Lash Assortment, used some We R Memory Keepers Fancy Floss for the string, used chalk for the cheeks, white gel pen and glossy accents on baloon highlights and a black gel pen for freckles, I free hand cut the banner, stamped it with "Happy Birthday" from MPS Sweet Baby and added some rhinestones from K & Co., used a blue glitter gel pen for the faux stiching around the edge of the holder.

Boo!

I made this card for a Halloween challenge. I don't really celebrate Halloween so I don't have any cartridges, paper or embellishments, so I had to make due with what I had. I think it came out cute!

Materials:
Card (pumpkin and card frame) cut using the card feature on Stretch Your Imagination @ 6 inches
All paper is Recollections Cardstock
Mini Ghost from Peachy Keen Stamps
Happy Halloween Sentiment from MPS Happiest Moments
Martha Stewart Drippy Goo Punch - added some purple glitter glue
Ribbon, buttons and twine from stash

I used glow in the dark paint around the pumpkin and on the eyes, nose and mouth It looks great in the dark but I couldn't figure out how to photograph it.

Santa Walking Rudolph!

I have not posted anything in a couple of weeks. I have just been so busy I have not had time to craft. I was able to break away last night and create a last minute entry for the Cardz TV Design Team Challenge.
"Happy Holidays - Pick One!"

My original plan was to do a Halloween card because it is the next holiday but since Card TV's newest challenge is to make a Halloween card (and I don't have much Halloween stuff) I went with Christmas. So here is what I came up with...hope you enjoy!

Materials:
All paper - Recollections card stock
Christmas paper - Joann's open stock
White mat - snowflake embossing folder
Santa: Cut from Best of 2006 (Christmas Cheer) cartridge, used white flocking powder on beard, mustache and hat trim, added faux stitching and eyes with black marker
Rudolph: Cut from Best of 2006 (Christmas Cheer) cartridge, googly eyes from Walmart, used Viva red pearl pen for the nose, black marker for eyebrows, mouth and hoofs (the hoofs cut out so small I got 3 on and lost the 4th so I just colored them all), green glitter glue for the collar
We R Memory Keepers baker's twine
American Crafts glitter button
Sentiment stamped from MCT "From Our Family To Yours
